You may find it's often the case where one member might be paying for many subscriptions. They could be a team leader, or the accounts person for a group. In this instance, it is often convenient to have all the billing cycles sync up so that all charges are on the same day, and within the same invoice.
Syncing invoices can be done when starting a new invoices subscription via Tribes Admin. Simply select Invoice as the payment method, check Sync Subscription and select the subscription you wish to sync with.
In order to sync with an existing subscription, the following must be true:
- The two subscriptions must have the same period length
- They must be charged in the same currency
- The existing subscription must be currently active
- Only invoiced subscriptions can be synced with, not credit card
If the above are correct, you will see the option Sync Subscription show when creating a new subscription payable by invoice.
When you create a synced subscription, Tribes help you bring the two subscriptions in sync by matching the cycle of the synced subscription with the parent subscription. A pro-rated invoice is automatically generated for the period leading up to the next renewal date.
If the parent subscription invoice has not yet been published, Tribes will automatically add the pro-rated amount to the existing invoice. If the parent subscription invoice has been published, Tribes will automatically generate a new one.
The same is for the next cycle period - if the next period invoice has not yet been published Tribes will add the next period amount to the existing invoice. If the next invoice has been published, Tribes will automatically generate a new invoice.
Once a subscription is synced, it will continue to be invoiced in the same cycle as the parent subscription. If either subscription is made inactive it will no longer appear on the joined invoice.
